Insert Colour Here...

Hi Beaus!,

Anyone who knows me will know that I absolutley love wearing colours! Mixing the simplest and the strangest of colours just to see what I would end up with . A lot of people tend to steer away from colourful outfits because they can sometimes be more difficult  to put together and can sometimes be a lot more conspicuous than you may be aiming for.
I think it's absolutley esssential for everyone to own at least a couple of bright coloured pieces in their wardrobe. And candy colours and pastels are so super in at the moment so what better time to grab some colour. I put together a few looks with some brights and some pastels ....

City Girl Chic

I kept the first really simple teaming a black knittted jumper with a black blazer ,pastel green bottoms and black poin toe court shoes.

Keep It Cute

I teamed the same pastel green bottoms with a paisley print salmon shirt and bright green court shoes. Perfect outfit for a nice and easy  spring day.

Give Me More...

This look is uber fun and flirty for my fellow colour lovers . I paired a lilac sheer blouse with a pair of cropped coral jeans and coral sandals with a graphic print clutch for added oomph :). I added a navy blue military style coat so keep it clean and stylish.

Risqué

My final look is a little on the risky side for those who dare to try! Instead of the usual black or dark colours when going for an edgy look try a pretty colour for a little twist! A camoflague military hat on a pastel green bodycon dress and a pair of ankle boots with a black biker jacket!

Enjoy!!

Golden Globes 2013; Top 10

So I know I'm a few days late on delivering the whole Golden Globe 2013 news but I've been swamped with deadlines and haven't had time to update! Pardon me my loves !!

Well down to buisness! The Golden Globees as I'm sure you already know is a star studded event feauting the flashiest and the frumpiest. My favourite part of course are the red carpet appearances, who looks amazing , who looks not-so-amazing . Who's wearing who, what and how!!
I decided not to focus too much on the poorly dressed (it makes me so angry when i see these rich people looking so 'boo'. its like whats the point in all your money!!) . I'm just going to embrace my 10  favourite star appearances and their ensembles.

To me these stars shone the brightest looking chic, elegant and far from overstated in their pretty frocks!
Kerry Washignton in Miu Miu

Michelle Dockery in  Alexandre Vauthier

Eva Longoria in Emilio Pucci
Jennifer Lopez In Zuhair Murad

Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier

R.I.P Alexander Mcqueen

After a brief conversation with a friend who was at the London Collections; Men this week, i was reminded about how amazing A.McQueen's lines were. I thought it was imperative that i did a brief post in honour of him.
I find his (and now Sarah Burton's) work astoundingly moving and consistently thought provoking. Never afraid to take a step into the unknown and always giving us creativity beyond our wildest expectations.
The first time I ever watched an Alexander McQueen show I literally had goosebumps and it sounds really cliche but I seriously just wanted moreee! The theatrics always made it that much more exciting, giving us fashion as we've never known it!
One of my favourite of his shows was theSpring/Summer 2001 show. Mainly because it made me stop and think. The show featured iconic model Kate Moss. The models walked in a glass box separating them from audience. With padded walls and models heads wrapped in bandages. Models trembled and gazed in confusion through the glass. I gathered a sense of sickness from all that was going on.  At the end of the show a box opened and shattered freeing moths and revealing a naked and meaty woman in a gas mask.
Yeah i know! so weird yet so Epic!! but I guess thats what set him appart from the rest.

Another of my favourites was his last ever Spring/Summer Collection in 2010 Entitled Platos Atlantis. Atlantis is a legendary and beautiful island first mentioned by Plato. It was said to have sunk into the Atlantic ocean after an earthquake. His interpretation of this through garments were absolutley spot on.  The collection featured the infamous shoes Lady Gaga wore in her music video 'Bad Romance'. Fluid dresses in pretty blues. The ambience to me was almost animalistic yet suttle in its ways. I LOVED the pieces in this, if i could i'd own them all . In all his theatrical efforts he somehow managed balance so that focus on the clothing is not lost!
All his shows are amazing but these two always stand out in my mind for various reasons.

He truly is an icon and a legend in his craft.... he brought to fashion what others feared to and did it amazingly. May his soul rest in peace.

I thought u might like to watch them for yourself ! :) Enjoy !!

For some strange reason I couldnt get the full lenght video to the SS2010 to upload so this is about half the show :(.

Jeffrey Campbell

Jeffery Campbell Lita With Gold Spikes
Jeffrey Campbell most definitley captures the fundamentals of street style without all the nitty gritty (sometimes!!). With its urban feel, a lot lot lot of edge!! . If theres one thing J.C shoes are its definitley edgy!  Some of them a little more than they need to be... just borderline crazy.

I'd like to say theres something for everyone but I'm not sure thats true. I dont think there is much option for 'safe' dressing girl. I'd say its more for the hipsters and trendsetters of our day.
Nonetheless J.C does give us some great shoes and a quick and affordable solution to jazz up the simplest of outfits.

The most famous of all .. THE LITA! Great thing about these are that they're extremely versatile. I bet when you think J.C this is most probably the first shoe that comes to mind. They seem to be the shoe  of the 'urban fashionista' and quite simply the 'trend sheep'. Some do them justice and some... well...

Jeffery Campbell DOES have other designs besides the ubiquitous Lita, Foxy and now Nightwalk so jump off the band wagon and try some

Quick Tip:

The Nightwalk is not for everyone... they are not complementary to all leg shapes, especially if you have thick calves so before you jump on the bandwagon really assess the way your legs look in these!
